Aziraphale’s summer clothes read like a dapper lesbian. Crowley looks like Marceline the Vampire Queen. The angel gets a Hawaiian shave ice and the demon settles on a cursed Garfield popsicle.

10+ years ago I did a bunch of Good Omens fanart, and it’s such a pleasure to revisit the fandom. Back then, I had cast Crowley and Aziraphale in my head as John Cusack and David Hyde Pierce, respectively, but having seen the new show, I don’t think anybody could ever play them better than Tennant and Sheen.

Just a note to some:

It’s impossible to know what you’ll be

Your hunches and fantasies will

Be proven undeniably wrong, one by

One, until you wonder, why have them

At all? Why look ahead, when all we know

Is what happened once, under the most

Uncertain auspices? Twisting these events

Into a fine mesh, we sift for precious

Metals in the current that seethes

Around us, THROUGH us, time itself

streaking past our avid fingers, still there

To be drunk when we’re thirsty and then

Pissed away when we’ve had our fill,

Slipping away without ever informing

Us: whose hands are these, whose

Eyes do we look through? Whose

Desires do we labor so relentlessly

To satisfy, only to then abandon?

You will become the answers to these

Questions, whether you like it or not

Whether you can stand it, or even fathom it

Life is just something to do with the hands

While you’re waiting.

i’m starting to realize the “friendship where we bully each other” thing is a complicated subject for me, because as a survivor of bullying and my interests being mocked for basically my entire life, i don’t really find it funny or endearing when pals do it. i don’t mind gentle insults and inside jokes, but idk, there has to be a point where you go “maybe i shouldn’t cut on my friend’s new oc or special interest” and stop yourself. i think we should all try a little harder to know that boundary and not put our friends in those situations

My best friend and I used to greet each other with insults (“hey bitch!” “wassup slut?”) and generally poke fun at each other all the time. It’s how we showed affection, just constant little pokes and prods and minor nuisances. But I noticed that these exchanges were wearing her down through little behavioral ticks, like she’d go quiet or her laugh wasn’t as bubbly. So I changed how I show her affection and now scream “hi Dawn I love you :D” at the top of my lungs when I say hi. And I hear her stifle a giggle and she answers with either “love you too” or “hiiiii, love you!!!” depending on her mood at the time.

It’s fine to have a close friendship where you can pretend to be mean to each other and you both understand that none of that meanness is real. But the second it starts to feel real to either of you, that behavior should change.

🎨 Tsukioka Yoshitoshi (Japanese, 1839 - 1892), Teasing the Cat, 1888 (Meiji period), polychrome woodblock print; ink and color on paper.

This 1888 print, “Teasing the Cat,” comes from a series by the woodblock print artist Tsukioka Yoshitoshi entitled Thirty-two Aspects of Women, in which each print shows a different personality type. This image depicts a young maiden (shojo) of the the Kansei period (1789-1801) who, according to the title, has an “annoying” disposition (urusa-sō), perhaps because she’s trying too hard to play with the cat - though the her feline friend doesn’t seem to mind. ⁣

UM EXCUSE ME THOS E ARE FUCKING PIXELS HOW

street--trash

Seize the Day was a calendar program made by in 1994 by Buena Vista software. It features graphics that at the time, were revolutionary because of the way they handled color cycling. These images were static bitmaps, but by changing color values, they appear animated. What is also impressive about these images is that they had full day night cycles built in, rendered also through color cycling.
A few years ago, a html5 version was made. A copy was uncovered online and there is a way to use the program through DOSbox. As well, one of the original programmers for the project, Iam Gilman, has thought of the idea of remaking it, open sourced, for modern machines.
